Foreclosures on the Rise in Mat-Su Borough

Matanuska-Susitna County, AK has been seeing a rise in Foreclosure activity, according to recent data recorded for March 2010.   The area that has the highest amount of new Foreclosure Activity being Wasilla, AK with 50 and Palmer, AK next in line with 19 foreclosures; the total number of new foreclosures in Mat-Su Valley for March was 83.  In a geographical comparison, Mat-Su Valley AK had a Foreclosure Rate of 0.30 percent, while the state of AK had a rate of 0.10 percent and the National foreclosure rate was 0.28 percent, making Mat-Su Valley higher than the national average.

Nationally, the reported Foreclosure Sales Count is 51,480 properties for March, increasing a little from February and January 2010 numbers.  The difference in the Average Sales Price for Foreclosure Sales compared to Average Sales Prices is $67,860 for April 2010.
