The Palmer city council approved a $3 million project last week to bring water services to the area along a realigned Trunk Road. This new pipe line will extend north from an existing system at Mat-Su Regional Hospital and ending above Mat-Su College in a 1 million-gallon reservoir. By extending city services, picking up businesses and residents along this road as well as to Mat-Su College, city officials hope this will prepare for future growth. The pipe line is expected to be laid this summer while road crews also work on Trunk Road and the reservoir is slated to be operational by the end of 2011 building season.
