This summer in Anchorage AK, many businesses will be getting a new look thanks to a number of new construction and remodeling projects.  Bill Popp, with the Anchorage Economic Development Corp., indicated that Anchorage’s commercial construction is looking great this summer with hundreds of millions of dollars’ worth of new construction planned.  KTUU.com reported that national outfitting chains such as Bass Pro Shops and Cabela’s will be moving into Anchorage with new buildings and some existing chains such as Wal-Mart and Fred Meyer stores are looking to remodel to spruce up their current locations; these remodeling projects are mostly based off of customer feedback including expansion of the produce area and Starbucks café.  Also, the local Natural Pantry health food store will be moving to its own building location which will increase its space by 12,000 square feet to provide more variety for those health conscious community members or those with special gluten-free or vegan diets.  All these new developments in the commercial sector will offer an economic boost to the area as well as offer tourist and residents a wider range of shopping options.
