Mat-Su Valley AK Economic Developments Move Forward
Mat-Su Valley AK is continuing to see some progress with several key infrastructure projects moving forward for completion in the coming years. Such projects as the port, the rail spur, and other plans that are important for Mat-Su Valley’s future growth were reported on in a Greater Palmer Chamber of Commerce community forum last Wednesday. Scheduled to be finished as soon as next summer’s end, the expansion of the port also includes eight additional acres of dock which will attract companies to use the dock to stage pipeline and modular buildings for shipping and a new trestle will allow more efficient access for trucks to reach ships in the deepwater dock. Also in the works is a plan to connect the port via rail lines to the Alaska Railroad in order to ship goods to and from the Interior. These are all part of an economic development plan with more at Frontiersman.com.
