Wasilla offers a wide variety of activities and points of interest in the lovely state of Alaska. Notable and unique is the Iditarod race which Wasilla serves as a headquarters for; this annual sled dog race attracts competitors, volunteers, and spectators from around the globe and has been dubbed “The Last Great Race on Earth.”
Wasilla AK is also home to beautiful parks, rivers, and lakes, including Iditapark which is the largest park in the city with a skate park, volleyball courts, basketball courts, tennis, BMX course, outdoor amphitheater, playground, and pavilions equipped with BBQs.
For history buffs, the city has the Dorothy Page Museum and the Knik Museum as well as Independence Mine state park, and the Alaska Railroad. Other fun activities in the area include the Reindeer Farm where visitors can hand-feed reindeer and view other native Alaskan species, Musk Ox Farm, and the Valley Performing Arts for a great theater experience.
