Summer road constructions projects lie ahead in Anchorage AK. According to Jerry Hansen, the municipality’s deputy director of project management and engineering, there are about 30 road projects scattered throughout the city, some of which are starting soon and others that will be going out to bid. The two largest state projects are already in progress; Phase 1 of Dowling road reconstruction that should give Anchorage drivers a new crosstown route, extending West Dowling through to Minnesota Drive has already begun, and Seward Highway widening from four to six lanes between Tudor and Dowling Roads to ease traffic flow is in the works. Also up for some changes are Victor Road with some improvements to the pathways, as well as widening, and resurfacing, and Ninth Avenue, Cordova to Latouche streets will have asphalt replacements and improvements for pedestrians.
